Peripherally Inserted Central Catheters

This program describes peripherally inserted central catheters, or PICC lines. It begins with a brief discussion about the rationale for their use and continues with a scenario that explains patient preparation and post-procedure care. In addition, dressing changes and complications associated with these lines are explored. This case study, which takes place in an acute care setting as well as the patient.s home, can be used for both healthcare professionals as well as patient education.
